#ISBF7 Post 1 - Sponsorship
It started with a tweet…. (There's a song in there somewhere….)
It was a bit…… previous. In that I hadn't really given any thought. In that I had no idea about WHAT could be sponsored. Nor “how much” stuff would cost to sponsor.
But, I want to be very clear. Sponsorship of “stuff” makes a huge difference to what we are able to do, with the event and - ultimately - what we can give to our nominated charity.
To example, last year (#ISBF6) we received DOUBLE the amount in sponsorship when compared to #ISBF5. Without THAT, you get an idea as to how much less would have gone to START Inspiring Minds.
The general approach to sourcing sponsorship for #ISBF7 won't change. By which I mean that what I/we like, is that the sponsors are individuals and small independent local businesses.
People for whom it's no small thing to be involved and to donate. It matters. And that's how we like it.
I've always wanted this event to be “human”. Not some corporate thing (we don't do “trade sessions for instance). And that's how it will stay.
So. With that in mind, I'm delighted to welcome Petersgate Tap as our Glassware Sponsors.
With a single exception (Torrside in Year 4), each of our glassware sponsors have been exceptional Micro Pubs. And The Petersgate Tap is no exception.

So. Back to that tweet.
Within 24 hours of pressing “send”, we had almost as much pledged as sponsorship as for the WHOLE of #ISBF5.
That took a while to sink in.
Messages were flying in to the account at a hellish rate of knots and I struggled to keep up. Because I'd changed some stuff.
Let me explain….
I like simplicity. And I failed at #ISBF6 on one detail. I (and it was my fault) gave away too many tokens with sponsorship by accident. So, for simplicity sake, I've bundled those in for #ISBF7.
So. To sponsor a beer or cider at #ISBF7 costs £80.
What you get for that is :
2 entry tickets. Guaranteed entry tickets. 2 glasses. And 2 sheets of £10 tokens.
There are other things that can be sponsored, such as posters, the programme etc. I'm happy to chat about these things too.
Each item sponsored comes with tickets etc as detailed above. Guaranteed tickets. And that's important.
Because, this year, there'll be less tickets available. 50 less per session. A maximum 200 tickets per session. To keep things relaxed. And comfortable. And that also matters.
So. That's that explained.
